Cuba psychology outreach project

Minnesota psychologists Richard Sethre, Psy.D. and Scott Kamilar, Ph.D., have organized a professional outreach project in February with the University of Havana Graduate Psychology Program and the Cuban Psychological Association. They will meet with staff  at the U. and the President of the C.P.A. to learn about how Cuban psychologists are integrated into the Cuban medical system.  Also, due to the US embargo, Cuban psychologists have not had access to professional books and training materials, and Drs. Sethre and Kamilar will be bringing donated textbooks and other professional supplies.  Cuban psychologists make $20-30 per month (that is not a typo!) and would greatly appreciate having access to current professional supplies.

If you would like to support this project, you may make a donation through the Natalis Outcomes Foundation, which has partnered with Drs. Sethre and Kamilar to support this project.  Please mail your check, to: Natalis Outcomes Foundation, attention Jeffrey Wigren, 1600 University Ave. W., Suite 14, St. Paul, MN, 55104.  You will receive a letter of acknowledgement that may be used for tax purposes.  Checks should be received by Wednesday, January 27, 2015.  If you would like to donate anonymously, please note this. Checks should be make out to the Natalis Outcomes Foundation.  We would like to express appreciation to the Natalis Outcomes Foundation and Procentive for their generous support.

    Hi Dr. Richard,
I am interested in donating some books to your project and if possible, being considered to join the trip. I lived and worked in Mexico for 8 years and have (or had!) some proficiency in Spanish although I do not now consider myself fluent. More Spanglish these days! I am LPC almost LPCC, LADC, EMDR trained and still developing my second career in psychology. I would love to be a part of the opening of Cuban’s professional network. Please let me know if this might be an option. Perhaps we could meet to discuss?

I have added my LinkedIn profile page to confirm my professional situation. I look for you reply~~ Nancy
